What We Do:

Richard Mountney Photography Ltd is there to facilitate all of our clients visual requirements and often achieve the possible.

Richard is an award winning professional advertising photographer specialising in, (but not limited to) still-life, drinks and liquids with more than 40 years experience. Richard's attention to detail and an adept understanding of light manipulation and attention to detail, gives his imagery a refined and polished quality.

These skills had a natural progression into the realm of video and commercials and I hope you agree that the results speak for themselves.

Situated in Edinburgh, Scotland. Richard works out of his own 2500 sq.ft fully equipped studio and does all retouching in-house. That doesn’t mean he’s stuck in the studio, Richard is well experienced and ready for shooting out on location.

Awards:

Over the years Richard has been awarded many awards from a Gold Clio, two Cannes Lions, an EPICA and a couple of Campaign Press Awards. He has also recently won a OneEyeland Golden X award for the Worlds Top 10 Still Life Photographers 2022.

Video Productions:

In these days video productions are more important than ever as brands advertise within in multimedia realms. Richard’s skills with lighting and an ever-expanding expertise with motion controlled cameras allow for precise movements and visually dynamic commercials.

Bio:

Richard left art school in the late 70's, and while working in London he learned his craft in the good old days of 10×8 and 5x4 film cameras. Richard now rejoices in the new digital era. Clients love the fact that he does virtually all of the retouching and manipulation in-house, which is a benefit when shooting multiple layers to achieve the perfect result. However, there is one thing Richard laments from those halcyon days… the long lunches in the pub waiting for the film to come back from the lab!
